A life well-lived and a legacy to cherish - that's the story of Maureen Flynn, a beloved member of the Roscommon community. Maureen, nee Britton, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2025, at the impressive age of 100. Her journey came to an end in the loving care of the staff at Drumderrig House Nursing Home, Boyle, after a brief illness.
Maureen leaves behind a loving family and a lifetime of memories. She was predeceased by her devoted husband, John, and her siblings, Peggy and Pat, as well as her sister-in-law, Nora. Her daughter, Christina Campbell, and son-in-law, William, will forever cherish the moments they shared with their beloved mother. Maureen's grandchildren, Alan and Stacy, and Stacy's husband, Seán, will carry on her legacy and keep her memory alive.
Maureen will be fondly remembered by her family and the community for her warmth, kindness, and the impact she had on those around her. Her niece, nephews, relatives, neighbours, and friends will all miss her presence and the joy she brought to their lives.
But here's where it gets controversial... In a world where we often rush through life, Maureen's passing serves as a reminder to cherish every moment and appreciate the little things. Her life, spanning a century, is a testament to the power of love, family, and community.
And this is the part most people miss... Maureen's funeral will be a celebration of her life, a chance for her loved ones to come together and share stories, laughter, and tears. The repast will take place at Flanagan's Funeral Home in Castleplunkett on Sunday, November 30, from 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm. The following day, on Monday, December 1, at 11:00 am, a Funeral Mass will be held at St. Eithne & Fidelma Church in Tulsk, followed by burial in Tulsk cemetery.
