In a surprising move, KTMB announced today that they will be introducing extra Electric Train Services (ETS) to cater to the anticipated travel surge. But will this be enough to satisfy the demand?
Starting tomorrow at 10 am, KTMB will release tickets for four additional ETS services, totaling a whopping 22,680 seats! These services will operate from December 19, 2025, to January 11, 2026, covering the KL Sentral-Padang Besar-KL Sentral and KL Sentral-Butterworth-KL Sentral routes. And here's where it gets interesting: two of these extra services will run daily on the Padang Besar route, while the other two will operate every weekend on the Butterworth route.
KTMB's statement emphasized that these additional trains are a proactive measure to accommodate travelers when regular ETS services are fully booked.
