On December 18, 2025, a significant event took place at the Kenya Navy Base Mtongwe as General Charles Kahariri, the Chief of the Defence Forces (CDF), made a visit there. This visit was part of his annual tour of the various services and formations within the Kenya Defence Forces, aimed at fostering interaction and assessing several critical aspects of military readiness.
Upon his arrival at the Mtongwe Jetty, he was warmly welcomed by Major General Paul Otieno, the Commander of the Kenya Navy, who ensured that a ceremonial half guard was mounted in honor of the CDF’s visit. This demonstrates the respect and discipline that characterizes the armed forces.
